Alicia Declerck is a Belgian-born awarded fashion designer & entrepreneur. Her passion for art history and textiles has led her to Florence, Italy in 2008, where she studied at POLIMODA International Institute of Design & Marketing. In 2011 she was granted the Manish Arora Award at the International Arts of Fashion Competition in San Francisco for her innovative collection presenting sculpted pieces & draping.
Following her graduation Alicia relocated to the United States where she initiated her career working for labels including Diane Von Furstenberg in New York and Rodarte in California. Later on Alicia moved to India to work for Manish Arora in New Delhi, where she extended her know-how in prints.
In 2015 Alicia returns to Belgium to set up her label, ALTER ERA, with co-founder & designer Zhanna Belskaya. ALTER ERA is a high-end Antwerp-based womenswear label with production facilities in Italy and Czech Republic. The label is known for their distinctive prints and refined cuts. Seven collections were presented internationally with the support of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and showcased from Paris to Doha. The collections were distributed via high-end multibrand boutiques, next to labels including ETRO and JIL SANDER, and via the label’s own webshop, pop-up stores and flagship store.
Currently Alicia is directing a bi-annual Haute Couture Masterclass at the Louvre in Paris for the Arts of Fashion Foundation together with Les Metiers D’art CHANEL.
